The good weather came out for the Lincolnshire Masonic Golfing Association at Market Rasen Golf Club for our annual Men’s Competition and there was golf to match too. 16 players from around the Province played for several trophies, the key one being the Provincial Grand Masters Challenge Cup for the best medal score. Many congratulations go to W Bro John Day of Ermine Lodge 2351 with a nett 72. John has won the trophy for the third year in succession – a fabulous achievement, well done John, seen below right receiving the trophy from the Association’s Chairman, Terry Little.

Butlin Trophy for the best nett medal score in the other Division; W Bro John McArthur of Pharos Lodge 6540The Jesse Spavin Trophy for the best Stableford score in either division; W Bro Roger Bacon of the St James Lodge 7415The St Lawrence Jubilee Trophy  and Tankard for the best score in the other division was won by W Bro Barrie Graham of Vermuyden 9482The Gardner Brown Trophy for the best Stableford score for players under 60 years went to W Bro Giovani Viscomi of Ermine Lodge 2351The Grand Father’s Cup was won by W Bro Keith Sale of The Sir Joseph Banks Daylight Lodge 9828The George Wright putting trophy was won by W Bro Terry Little of St Botolph’s Lodge 588

Friday 9 June – Lincs Province vs. Derbyshire Province – a 12 man team pairs betterball competition at Lincoln Golf Club, Torksey., first tee 12.58. Incidentally, there’s no problem if we have more than 12 people wanting play, everyone is welcome and can play on the day and enjoy the course – John tells me it’s in fabulous condition. The cost is £45 for the golf and the post match meal, coffee and snacks are available pre-match. The first tee is 12:56, please arrive for 12:00 noon.

Friday 7 July – Mixed Pairs at Ashby Decoy – Mens and Ladies mixed pairs, plus a mens pairs and ladies pairs competition if they want to play but are not in a mixed pairing.
